Bracket Racing has given people the opportunity to get into road racing, without a lot of the pressure that comes with committing to a series without any racing experience behind them. Qualifying takes place in the morning which determines the time bracket for each rider. The brackets are then grouped together for racing. The difference between bracket racing and other formats is that the classes contain all different bikes, depending on the speed of the rider. This gives people running the same lap times the opportunity to ride in the race, regardless of capacity of the bike. The rule is, if a rider breaks out of their bracket significantly, they are disqualified from that bracket. It has made an interesting and battle filled season.
Bracket Racing is open to all racers. Lap times vary from novice to very experienced. We cater for all bikes, including Supermoto and historic bikes. It is a day of racing for all.
It was great to see some of the regular attendees at the MV Girls Only Track Days take the plunge and mix it up with the boys in the three qualifying sessions and five races. It is a lot of track time in a day, and those ladies were surprising themselves, and the competition with the improvements they made over the year. There have been some great results seen by the women on the track.
There are incentives for members who would like to volunteer at Bracket Racing events. Contact the club secretary if you are interested: firstname.lastname@example.org
